Discover the winter outdoor feel-good paradise
WOW_Kaiserwinkl
Variety is the magic word in winter in the Tyrolean Kaiserwinkl, which is surrounded by the Wilder and Zahmer Kaiser mountains and combines a good dose of winter idyll with a wide range of sporting opportunities. With 127 km of classic and 126 km of skating trails, the region has long since established itself as one of Austria's outstanding cross-country skiing areas.
But there's no shortage of skiing fun either: on the Unterberg, the local mountain of the lively ski resort of Kössen, skiers can enjoy a very varied ski area at an altitude of 1,700 m with guaranteed snow from December to April and magnificent views of the Tyrolean mountains and far into the Bavarian Chiemgau region. What's more, the entire run down to the valley is covered in snow.
