Project Klobenstein Gorge
In 2016, the focus was on collecting and elaborating ideas as well as involving the population within the framework of two public events. Together, the planning framework for the Smuggler's Trail was defined. This cross-border project was made possible within the framework of a small Interreg Bavaria-Austria project. As a result, in 2017, with the help of 75% EU funding, the ideas developed could be technically planned and worked out in more detail – all the necessary official approvals on the Bavarian and Tyrolean sides could be obtained.
The routing on the Tyrolean side corresponds to that of the current smuggler's path, while on the Bavarian side the path now runs closer to the Tiroler Ache. Access points to the river with rest areas can make the waterway more tangible for hikers. A panoramic footbridge, a viewing platform and a second suspension bridge in the area of the Entenloch offer spectacular views of the Klobenstein Gorge for young and old.
The aim was and is to make the Klobenstein Gorge sustainably interesting for guests and locals and to promote it. The municipality of Kössen, the municipality of Schleching and the TVB Kaiserwinkl have therefore developed this major project "Destination Development Klobenstein Gorge", and was submitted in the Interreg Bavaria-Austria program. With the approval of this major project by the Interreg funding agency, the planned measures in the Klobenstein Gorge were started in 2018 and completed in 2021.

Project Mary Way
"Maria Be-Weg-T" KPEUR13
The municipalities of Kössen, Marquartstein, Schleching, the town of Kufstein, TVB Kufsteinerland and TVB Kaiserwinkl are partners in the project: The pilgrimage route, called EUREGIO Marienweg "Maria-BE-WEG-T", has also become a cultural and tourist experience. After all, the planned Marienweg leads through a beautiful landscape in the pre-Alpine region with historical and culturally valuable buildings and monuments. The trail also offers great recreational value and presents the border region as a unified area without barriers. With this project the course was set for a pilgrimage trail with at least two variants (up to approx. 240 km).

Rediscover the Mozart cycle path: regionality and sustainability
As part of a PR campaign, the focus is to be placed on regionality, culinary delights and sustainability along the cross-border Mozart Cycle Path. Not only cycling tourism (including accommodation providers, restaurants, bike hire and workshops) should benefit from this, but also the many local providers - from farm stores to gourmet manufacturers, from organic cheese dairies to fish farms. Journalists are to visit and get to know local providers themselves for a major report in a medium suitable for the target group of cyclists (summer 2024). The publication date of the report is the following spring or summer 2025. The report will also be prepared and advertised digitally.
Project duration: 01.01.2024 - 31.12.2025
