Uncomplicated arrival
The 4 villages of the Kaiserwinkl region - Kössen, Walchsee, Schwendt & Rettenschöss – are easily and comfortably accessible via car, bus, train and plane. The Kaiserwinkl is located in close proximity to the famous cities of Salzburg (75 km), Innsbruck (93 km) and Munich (130 km).

Arrival by car
If you are coming from Germany (Munich): on the A8 to Inntaldreieck, then A 93 Inntalautobahn direction Kufstein, leave the highway at Oberaudorf and take the B 172 to Kössen, Walchsee, Schwendt and Rettenschöss. With this route you save the Austrian highway toll.
The section from the DE/AUT state border to the Kufstein Süd freeway exit has been toll-free since December 15, 2019.
From Eastern Austria (Salzburg) leave the A8 at the Grabenstätt exit in the direction of Marquartstein/Schleching. Turn off in the direction of Kössen.
On the road with an electric car? No problem, we have several public e-charging stations in the Kaiserwinkl. For your journey you can use the e-car charging stations map.
Arrival by train
With the train your vacation already starts with the relaxed arrival! The best destination station for your vacation in the Kaiserwinkl is Kufstein. As a border tariff station, you can reach Kufstein with the Deutsche Bahn at domestic rates with the Sparpreis from 19,- Euro! Also the Sparschiene of ÖBB & DB have cheap tickets.
From Kufstein either with the Kaiserwinkl Shuttle of the company Four Seasons Travel directly to your accommodation or with the Regio Bus No. 4030 to the Kaiserwinkl. Also the train station St. Johann in Tirol is conveniently located for the journey from Klagenfurt or Graz. From here take the Regio Bus No. 4000 to Schwendt and Kössen.
With the Kaiserwinkl-Card you can take the bus line no. 4030 from the train station Kufstein to the Kaiserwinkl region there & back for FREE.
Simply request the Kaiserwinkl Card from your host before arrival and load it onto your smartphone.
