Kaiserwinkl New Year's greeting
The turn of the year is just around the corner and all locals and guests are invited to the New Year's greeting in Kössen. Together with the Kössen skiing school, the mountain rescue,the traditional costume association, the marching band and the town community of Kössen, the year is traditionally ended with the greeting of the new year. The event is framed by a large fireworks display, mulled wine, chestnuts and musical accompaniment.
Programme 31.12.2024
- Around 4:35 pm arrival of the (free) buses from Kössen, Walchsee, Schwendt and Rettenschöss at the valley station of the Hochkössen ski resort. There, first the skiing instructors of the Kössen skiing school will show their skills with a torch run. The mountain rescue team will burn the new year's number into the snow.
- At 05:30 pm all spectators will be brought by bus to the village square in Kössen.
- At 05:45 pm the Kössen music band marches in with the traditional costume society Landsturm 1809 with the cannon, the ski instructors of the Kössen ski school, and little smoke sweepers for good luck.
- The band "O'hara" will provide the atmosphere at the fairground.
- A big firework display around 06:45 pm
- The event will take place in all weather conditions. Admission is free.
