The sunny holiday spot in Tyrol
Kössen
Kössen is the first place you come to when travelling from Bavaria via Reit in Winkl or Schleching to the Kaiserwinkl. Situated directly on the Bavarian border, you will be greeted by a picturesque landscape, fantastic mountain scenery and many interesting places.
Head high up to our local mountain, Mount Unterberg. In summer and winter, Mount Unterberghorn provides plenty of action and wonderful views into the distance. The Hochkössen cable car takes you comfortably to the summit - in summer right into the middle of the hiking paradise, in winter right into the family skiing resort. For the brave, we recommend a paragliding flight down into the valley. Once there, many shops as well as pubs and restaurants with regional cuisine await you.

Cycling, mountain and e-biking
Our versatile cycling tours also invite you to go cycling, mountain biking or e-biking. Of course, you can determine your own level of difficulty. Our two pleasure bike trails, both of which start in Kössen, are particularly popular:
Kaiserweis Genussradrunde – visit regional alpine dairymen, bakers, beekeepers, schnapps distillers, bacon and sausage producers.
Käseradrunde – on the tracks of hay-milk cheese
Refreshment in the cool water
On hot summer days, you can also refresh yourself in our outdoor swimming pool in the forest. As the name suggests, it is located in the middle of the forest. With slides, waterfalls, mushroom fountains and much more, children, teenagers and adults will get their money's worth here. If you prefer something a little more wild, we recommend exploring the Tiroler Ache River in a rafting boat. Or would you rather try canyoning in the gorges?
Above the clouds
Enjoy the world from above and a unique panoramic view of the Tyrolean mountains when you take off in a hot air balloon. If you need more adrenaline, then try a tandem flight!
Snow-covered landscapes and fresh air
What does Kössen offer in winter?
Comfortably through the snow
In winter, Kössen is transformed into a romantic winter wonderland. The snow-covered mountains glisten in the winter sun. Numerous tours invite you to go snowshoeing or winter hiking. During the tours you will find many resting places where you can recharge your batteries. If you prefer to be driven by horse, we recommend a horse-drawn carriage ride.

Kaiserwinkl in Tyrol is the cross-country skiing paradise par excellence. Eight cross-country skiing routes also start in snow-sure Kössen, which differ in length, difficulty and altitude metres. So you are sure to find the right route for you!
