Alpine summer adventures
What does Schwendt offer in summer?
Climbing
Our alpine via ferratas in the Kaiserbach Valley are only six kilometers away from Schwendt. The legendary climbing areas on the saddle between Mount Wilder and Mount Zahmer Kaiser are only for experienced climbers who feel like conquering Fleischbank or Totenköpfl summit.
Comfortable stroll
If you prefer to take it easy, we recommend our village strolls and the new premium hiking trail Quellenweg. There are two of them in Schwendt: the classic village stroll and the Kohlental stroll. If you want, you can also make a detour to the Schwendtner fish ponds on the Kohlentalrunde.
Mountain bike or e-bike tours
As a mountain village, Schwendt is of course also ideal for mountain bike or e-bike tours. Numerous routes lead directly from the village center into the Tyrolean mountains. You will discover the beautiful landscape on two wheels and can choose the route according to your abilities.
For the old and the young
Families are also very welcome in Schwendt. In the village center you will find a large adventure playground with many playing opportunities. The water wheel, the climbing stone and the rotating carousel are just three highlights to discover.
Hikes and mountain tours
Schwendt often is affectionately called the "nostalgic treasure chest of the region". A pure natural paradise lies before you where the church tower of St. Ägidius flashes into the sky. In the mountain summer, Schwendt is the perfect starting point for hikes and mountain tours. Mount Zahmer Kaiser and Mount Wilder Kaiser offer, just as the Kaiserbachtal Valley in Griesenau, a variety of varied tours in different degrees of difficulty.
Tip: In our Kaiserwinkl magazine you can find a round tour over Feldberg and Stripsenkopf. Have fun hiking!
Guaranteed without hibernation
What does Schwendt offer in winter?
At first glance, it seems as if Schwendt has fallen into hibernation. The snow-covered farms, mountains and meadows offer a sight that will immediately put you to rest. At second glance, you realize that there is going on a lot on the connecting road between Kaiserwinkl, St. Johann in Tyrol and Kitzbühel.
Cross country skiing
Especially on the cross-country skiing trail network, which connects Schwendt with the other villages of the Kaiserwinkl region, it is busy. As a cross-country skier, you will really get your money's worth here. The large cross-country skiing loop to Kössen and Walchsee passes directly on the outskirts of the village.
