Tranquility, nature and Tyrolean tradition
Rettenschöss
It almost seems as if Mount Zahmer Kaiser is the landmark of Rettenschöss. Its imposing peaks can be admired from almost everywhere in the smallest village of the Kaiserwinkl. The Tyrolean mountains characterize the image of the remote mountain village just as much as the scattered farms and traditional alpine pastures. These stretch from 600 to 1,450 meters above sea level. This place offers enough space and room for everyone who is looking for relaxation, peace and nature.
4 facts about Rettenschöss

Cooling forest, rustic village
What offers Rettenschöss in summer?
Hiking and walking
In Rettenschöss you are more or less already in the middle of the mountains, where the summer in the mountains shows itself from its brightest side. Many varied hiking trails begin directly in Rettenschöss. The weather (hardly ever) doesn't matter: even when it rains, there are leisurely hikes or walks that are safe and guarantee wonderful vistas, like the hiking trail Dorfrunde Rettenschöss. On hot summer days, the forests offer enough shade, as long as you don't go above the tree line. In this case, early risers have a clear advantage.
By the way, a little insider tip is the breathtaking view from Mount Wandberg or Mount Karspitze to the expansive River Inn Valley. In our Kaiserwinkl magazine you will find the after-work tour to Mount Wandberg and Mount Karspitze on the one hand, and a tour with the baby on Mount Karspitze on the other.

Bike tours
Another way to explore Rettenschöss and its dreamy landscape is by mountain bike or e-bike. Many bike tours start in our mountain village and lead to remote places that invite you to rest and relax. For a good refreshment in between we recommend a stop in our managed alpine pastures and mountain huts. This way the altitude difference - no matter which degree of difficulty - is a piece of cake!
